I hate this part. I have been blankly staring into space for 20 minutes trying to think of something to write about myself. If you want a long list of credentials that would lend me credibility as to why you would spend your time reading my blog, I really don’t have any. I could tell you about the bible studies that I have orchestrated over the years, about the teen ministry I volunteered for and the Sunday School classes I have led. The truth is, the only thing that I hold a legitimate claim to is that I love God and His Word. Some would say that I have the gift of teaching, and I suppose that is true, but I see myself more as a learner, a passionate student. If I didn’t have to operate in the world and according to it’s systems (go to a job, pay bills, clean house, etc), I would be happy to sit in front of my bible all day long and never do anything else. The thing that makes me a teacher is the fact that I can’t keep any of it to myself. I love to tell others about God, and what He reveals to me through His Word. I don’t have anything published, although that may change someday. For now, my platform is this blog site, or what I call my bible study page. I hope you find it to be a place where we can sit at a virtual kitchen table and share a spiritual meal together. Bring your coffee, your bible and your notebook and let us share in the goodness of the Lord together.
My name is Lori McCollum and I was born again in 1991 at the age of 25. I have been married to a wonderful, hard working man for 32 years and am the mom of two amazing grown up children. I work a sort of full time job as a dental assistant, love anything to do with the outdoors including riding my Suzuki SV650, hiking, camping and mowing my brothers grass ( I know that sounds weird but I do my best thinking, praying and worshipping on that mower). At the moment I lead the youth group at my church and am trying to write a book that will probably never be published, but who knows.
Thank you for taking the time to read and learn with me!
